Why Recycle?

We all know we should recycle but do we really know why. Recycling has many advantages and we believe that it is crucial.

Environmental Benefits of Recycling  

• By reducing, reusing and recycling items instead of throwing them away, fewer new materials are needed to make new things. 
• This means that we are helping to protect the natural environment by reducing the amount of mining and quarrying needed to source new materials and helping to preserve natural resources. 
•   Recycling items also uses less energy than making new ones from scratch and this can reduce pollution.

Problems of Disposal 

• Landfills mean that a lot of reusable material is lost and we are running out of space to create new landfills. They are also very unpopular to live near.
• Incineration creates a lot of pollution and valuable resources are just burnt. People also do not like living near them as they can be viewed as a potential health risk.
